Missions

Penrith Church of Christ seeks to be a living link between the church and the people, families, and organisations serving on the mission field — locally, nationally, and internationally. Our heart is to reach Penrith, Sydney, Australia, and beyond, sharing the good news of Jesus and demonstrating His love in practical, life‑changing ways.

Through prayer, financial support, and ongoing relationship, we partner with dedicated individuals and ministries who are bringing hope, compassion, and the message of Christ to communities across the world. These partnerships reflect our commitment to being a church that not only gathers but also goes — extending God’s love from our neighbourhood to the nations.

Together, we celebrate what God is doing through these faithful servants and continue to pray for His guidance and provision as we join in His mission.


Outreach

Outreach is the active expression of Christ’s love through both word and action. It involves sharing the message of Jesus, building relationships, and meeting social, emotional, and spiritual needs within communities. Key aspects include evangelization and discipleship, community engagement, service and support, collaboration with other ministries. The goal is to foster genuine spiritual growth, strengthen connections, and demonstrate God’s love in practical, transformative ways.

Evangelism

Evangelism is the act of telling others about Jesus — who He is, what He has done, and why His message brings hope, forgiveness, and new life. It’s rooted in the word “evangel,” which means good news. 

Evangelism isn’t just about speaking; it’s about living out the message of Christ in a way that reflects His love, compassion, and truth. It can happen through:

  • Conversations that point people toward Jesus
  • Acts of kindness that demonstrate God’s love
  • Sharing your story of faith and transformation
  • Inviting others into community, worship, or discipleship
  • Serving people in practical ways that open doors for spiritual connection

At its heart, evangelism is about helping people encounter Jesus — not through pressure or argument, but through relationship, authenticity, and love.

OUR MISSION PARTNERS

Why do we have mission partners?

We have mission partners because God’s mission is bigger than any one congregation. By partnering with trusted people and organisations, we can support work we can’t do alone, extend our reach locally and globally, and stay connected to what God is doing beyond our own walls. Mission partnerships help us share resources, encourage one another, and make a greater impact together than we ever could individually. They also shape us as a church community, growing our compassion, generosity, and commitment to living out the gospel in practical ways.

  • WEC Australia

    WEC Australia is a branch of WEC International. 

    WEC Australia's mission is two fold:

    Supporting and caring for Australian WEC members who are serving in other countries

    Support and walk with believers and their churches in Australia to actively particpate in God's mission to the unreached

    Within WEC Australia the values we try to do ministry by include:

    • Worship – our doing comes out of our core of prayer
    • Discipleship – we value walking with people
    • Relationship – relationship is key in all we do
    • Partnership – we work effectively together through interdependent teams

  • International Mission Ministries exists to see people and communities transformed by hope, grace and good news.

    We are passionate about:

    • transforming communities for good;
    • equipping leaders/ community workers;
    • offering good news and spiritual guidance when requested;
    • providing protection for at-risk children;
    • standing against human trafficking and empowering women; and
    • bringing hope and grace to disempowered peoples.

  • Every Daughter Matters is an Australian not-for-profit dedicated to preventing the trafficking of young Nepali women and girls. We do this through border interceptions, emergency shelters, safe homes, and long-term empowerment—working entirely through trusted, local partners in Nepal.

  • Local Church + Pioneers = Success

    Global mission is a partnership. Missionaries, supporters and sending churches each taking hold of Jesus' commission – to proclaim to the whole world the good news of peace with God through Jesus Christ.

  • OMF is a global fellowship of Christians with a heart for East Asia.

    We share the good news of Jesus Christ in all its fullness with East Asia’s peoples to the glory of God.

    We are passionate to demonstrate and proclaim the good news to East Asia’s billions, many of whom have never seen or heard it.

    In places where there are no churches or limited resources, we humbly and prayerfully engage in church planting. In places where the church already exists, we serve alongside it to strengthen and extend it.
